Help me give my students their voices through these communication cards, play-based therapy games, and laminating paper to laminate their communication boards!
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am a speech therapist and I create communication boards for my students and staff. As a result, I go through a lot of laminating paper so this would help me tremendously!
My students also learn through visuals and play-based therapy.
Having communication cards with excellent visuals on them (like Super Duper Publications cards) help my students learn. As I was choosing these cards, I had different students in mind who would benefit from them. My caseload is diverse and represents the autism spectrum as a whole. They are at different levels in their communication journeys, so having a variety of communication cards will be helpful for me as their speech therapist. My younger language learners will benefit from the games chosen as they are working on building functional communication through play.
