My Students

Second graders are amazing! These students go through quite a metamorphosis. They begin the year as burgeoning readers, budding mathematicians, and blossoming scientists. Throughout their journey in second grade, they bloom into experienced students ready to take on the world!

My new second grade scholars this year are ready for an exciting adventure in learning!

These are students with a variety of social, emotional, and academic needs and come from diverse backgrounds with many new English Language Learners. Providing a common, inviting, and safe area for everyone to grow together is my highest priority!

My Project

Being able to easily communicate back and forth with my students' families makes our school year better! We use daily folders to keep our current calendars, information about school, and to send notes back and forth. They also house learning information for home and books to read.

Having a sturdy, durable folder makes all the difference!

In the past, I have used cheap folders from back-to-school sales and ended up having to replace them multiple times throughout the year. They became ripped and dirty and the kids didn't take pride in them. Last year, I used the Five Star folders and didn't have to replace a single one! The students took great care of them because they looked new all year and more importantly, papers didn't become lost due to a broken folder!

We used the labels to print covers and directions inside the folders. We used the page protectors to house important information and signed papers. My students were able to stay organized all year!
