My Project

I teach students who are primarily non-verbal with autism and use a variety of means to communicate including picture-mediated communication, gestures, speaking, and using aac devices to expand upon their ability to get their wants and needs met. In addition, students are also learning to expand upon their vocabulary, write sentences, and answer questions during their time in the classroom.

The iPads will help us give each student in the classroom access to their classroom curriculum by allowing them to communicate throughout their time in the classroom.

Students who have the ability to communicate have less behavior, are engaged in their learning, and have the ability to advocate for themselves as well.
