My Project

My students are awesome because they are bilingual or multilingual, mostly in Spanish and English but other languages, too. The students I work with have lots of great language skills from their home cultures and languages that can't be accessed via English standardized tests.

Using wordless picture books will help to appropriately assess students’ ability to create narratives in their own language or English, which is such an important language skill.

Having an iPad (and its protective components) will allow me to both translate their narratives from their native language and to work with them using multilingual apps that can help to bridge their native language knowledge with their learning of English!
