My Project
Many of the students that I work with have difficulty verbally expressing themselves. Many students are considered non-verbal or have limited vocal abilities. Visual supports have proven to benefit student's communication abilities and decrease frustration levels.
Communication books and visual supports help non-verbal and special needs students effectively communicate their wants and needs.
These supports can be used both in the school environment and at home to help support parents. It is important for the school and the parents to utilize the same support in both environments, therefore the school often sends home the same Communication book for the parents to use at home. My students and their parents are in need of Communication books so that we can work as a team towards the same goal-more communication with the child!
