This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
All of my students have Autism, and this year, I am teaching a class of kindergartners aged 5 and 6.
Many of my students are non-verbal, and all of them have limited communication skills.
They require various learning modalities and activities to understand their environment.
The visual aids I am asking for are more durable than the paper ones I have been making for years. Many of my students have sensory needs, such as mouthing and chewing. The chewing necklaces help address these needs by providing them with an appropriate item to chew on.
