My student attend a Kindergarten through sixth grade building in an inner city school district. We currently have 800 students and of them 120 are students with disabilities. 80% or more of our students are on free and reduced lunch while receiving Title one support. My students struggle with the inability to learn due to sensory or health related factors that adversely affect their educational performance. Many struggle with the ability to build and maintain relationships. Many students come from broken homes or are considered homeless.
My Project
By helping our school fund this project, it would be a great gain for our building. We cannot stress enough the importance of communicating between staff in order to meet our students needs for them to be more successful. It is sometimes difficult locating specific staff in various parts of the building during high need situations.
With the use of walkie-talkies, we would be able to communicate with any of our special service staff at any given time.
Having this luxury, we would be able to provide even more support to each of our students' needs more quickly and efficiently.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
