My students need an iPad in the classroom so I will be able to share pictures and videos with their parents and guardians. This will help our classroom communicate what we have learned and created!
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students live and learn in Chicago's south side. They are a diverse and highly curious group of students. They love learning through inquiry and sharing what they have accomplished. Our 5th grade is departmentalized so this project will impact the learning experience of 75 students! I teach reading, math, and social studies to a wonderful group of 5th graders. Our classroom community will deepen from this piece of technology.
My students come from ethnic, socioeconomic, and religiously diverse backgrounds.
This year, my class is composed of English language learners, diverse learners, and hearing impaired students. We continuously celebrate our differences and learn from each other!
My Project
We will use our iPad to film and document our learning through pictures. We will be able to share our classroom happenings with our families via the app Class Dojo. Students take pride in their work, and will be thrilled to communicate their hard work with their parents and guardians.
This project will allow families to feel connected with our classroom and it will give parents and guardians the ability to view exactly what is happening in 315!
I have also requested a case, because 75 10 & 11 years olds will be handling the device. Please help us make this goal a reality!
