Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
All of the children on my caseload have communication disabilities- some children exhibit difficulties in their comprehension (or understanding) of language, some exhibit difficulty in expressing themselves and some children exhibit difficulties in both. There are also numerous children on my caseload who are currently non-speaking. There is one thing that can help all of them with their various areas of difficulty- VISUALS! Currently, we are limited to printing in black and white in my district. Printing colorful visuals will increase engagement and motivation, stimulate retention and boost active learning.
This printer will allow me to make customized therapy materials to engage all of my students.
I can provide each preschool classroom with communication boards to assist my non-speaking students in developing expressive language skills. With personalized COLORFUL communication boards, we can assist the children in learning vocabulary, participating in activities, socializing with their peers and expressing their wants and needs, all while building confidence and independence.
