Communicate In Color

My students need a color printer , color ink cartridges, and black ink cartridge to print their core vocabulary communication boards in color.

My Students

I want my nonverbal students to be able to communicate their basic wants and needs. My biggest challenge is printing their communication boards in color.

My nonverbal students are in the Preschool Program for Children with Disabilities (PPCD) classroom on an elementary school campus.

My school is wonderful in the fact that the teachers are willing to include these children in their non-special education classrooms anyway they can.

My Project

Since my students are nonverbal, they need a way to communicate in the classroom. As their speech-language pathologist, I teach them to communicate using pictures. They use a core vocabulary board so they can point to symbols and tell people what they want or need.

Having a core vocabulary board printed in color for each of them will allow them to carry their own board wherever they go and communicate with anyone throughout their day.

This makes a huge difference if pictures are in color versus black/white. It is more appealing to the students and easier to distinguish the symbols.
