This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

This is my second year teaching Living Environment (Science), in East NY, for the NYC Department of Education. I teach in a transfer school, which means the students are overage and under credited. Most students are 17-19 years old. The school is Title 1 compliant and 10% of our population includes students with disabilities.

The printer paper will help students to be able to read more science articles to increase lexicon.

I think the CC will help students achieve writing readiness. I need the supplies to support the students and their learning objectives. I only have 2 computers in the class and students prefer a hard copy.

My Project

I let the students choose what article they would like to read from the Internet. After teacher approval, the students often print the article to write a claim, provide evidence, and their interpretation. Often times, I run out of paper and the students need a hard copy to highlight/takes notes underline, etc... That is why I am trying to buy paper for my students to print articles.
