My Students

This year the second grade students in Manatee County will be using the new Common Core standards for learning. They will be the first group of kids to take the new PARCC assessment next year. Please help me to prepare them for this huge task by supplying us with the necessary materials.

I have a wonderful group of students who are looping with me from first grade to second grade.

I have students from all socioeconomic backgrounds. We have some who can afford school supplies and some who can not. They are eager to learn and excited about starting a new school year.

My Project

I am asking for two things. One is book bins. I would like each child to have his/her own bin to keep books that are just right for them in. This would be their own personal library of books to read. The other is a math kit. It has games and manipulative's to make math fun!

My classroom budget was cut in third this year.

I don't have the money to purchase these things myself, or I would. I feel that both of these items are crucial to making my school year a successful one.
