This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am a Special Education Teacher at a vocational and life skills program. My students are taught life skills to assist them in becoming more independent and go through vocational training with our career and technical classes to be employed when they graduate. One of the content areas that I teach is commercial photography. We use Commercial photography as a way to teach and educate our students with special needs, a new skill not normally taught to them in school, along with employability skills to one day gain employment. In my short experience with my students, this class has been something they have used to express who they are. The iPad Pro will be used to construct a mobile photo booth for our campus. The students will practice the employability skills taught to them in a real-world scenario and setting.
