My Students
I currently teach twenty-one inquisitive second grade learners in a school that focuses on personalized learning. Each of my students are unique and bring a smile to my face every day.
In our classroom, we work on building a sense of community and belonging.
We work hard on academics each day, but also learn the importance of being kind and inclusive people in our community.
We utilize flexible seating options in our classroom and my students have opportunities to work as individuals, in partnerships, and in whole-group settings each day.
My Project
In our classroom, my students spend a great deal of time throughout the day at our class meeting place. Right now, this is more of a "general area" in our classroom as opposed to a designated space. A classroom rug will help for our full-class lessons, community building activities, and sharing time.
This rug will not only be a place for my students to come together
as a community, it will also help make our classroom feel more like a home.
My current students and I looked at rugs together to choose one that best fits our class. We chose one that has a focus on community. We hope that you help make our wish for a classroom rug come true!
