it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
For our final set of literature circles of the year, I'd love to have my class read different books about young people coming of age under difficult circumstances, who must work to overcome adversity and make changes in their lives and communities. My students will relate to and/or be inspired by the characters in these books, and I know these titles will get students thinking and talking. My hope is to find books that will not only get my students to enjoy reading, but to feel called on to make positive changes in their own communities as well.
