My Students

My children need your help! They have lost so much in their own lives- at home and in school. Our school was not only a place for learning academics. We were a family! Our West School was flooded from Hurricane Sandy. All things are gone! Please help our children by donating learning materials.

My students are creative learners and thinkers.

They are all so different in their approaches to learning, communicating and sharing. Each of their personalities lends itself to a learning community where we grow from each other's experiences and knowledge.

My Project

A document camera is a tool that allows teachers to meet the needs of our students more readily. Students are highly motivated with such materials that allow student work and models to be viewed instantly. Technology helps us grasp students attention in today's fast paced world. Students will be able to watch their writing come to life as we can view their writing masterpieces and use them to grow as learners. The class will be able to view students' writing and improve their writing skills such as sentence structure, writing conventions and grammar.

Teaching in a room without technology is extremely difficult.

Our students deserve to have the materials that were lost in the storm. A document camera will benefit our students during our writing projects- especially our Native American informational article unit. We will be able to locate information as a class in texts that will be displayed on the smart board. Writer's Workshop, from brainstorming to publishing, will help students learn paragraph structure, conventions and grammar.
