My Project

My students are in their final year of elementary school. We are fortunate enough to have a great team of teachers who work together and share students. Each of us has our own homeroom where we teach grammar, writing and social studies. As a team we each take an additional subject and teach each other's class that subject. That allows us to get really creative and master our subjects while working collaboratively and striving to reach the needs of our various learners. I teach science and am always thinking of ways to teach across the curriculum.

These small science comics will allow me to teach the great content areas as they are rich in vocabulary and concepts and work with a small group of readers to build their fluency and develop a love for reading.

These books are great because they offer an engaging way to learn through the creative characters developed and offer yet another platform to teach science content in a non traditional way. The fact that I can support and reinforce the language arts is an added bonus!
