Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
More than three-fourths of my school come from a low-income background. They also live in apartment complexes and have a transitional background in their living arrangements.
They do have a love of learning and a desire to learn more every day.
The parents are striving to give their children more but might lack the ability to know how to accomplish this task. Educators at our school strive daily to give our students the best education, love, and nurturing that we can!
My students live in the Houston area where Hurricane Harvey came in August. Our district suffered losses in many schools, and we missed many instructional days of class. It was difficult for our students to return and start a routine again when so many had gone through a loss or had other family members going through a loss of a home.
My Project
Flexible seating provides a comfortable alternative to chairs and desks in the classroom. The seating types indicated in this project will allow students flexible seating throughout my classroom while they work independently or in a whole group. Students will be able to use clipboards while sitting in a flexible seating arrangement. This will help students choose multiple seating areas throughout the day. They will not be limited to sitting at a desk all day.
My students would benefit from the wobble chairs when they are working independently.
These chairs help students with ADHD stay focused while working. While working in the whole group at our front carpet, students will be able to use the Flex-Space student lap desk to write while following along with my math and reading lessons. The Flex-Space comfy seats benefit students while they read in my class library.
The flexible seating will be available to all students and will be stored in the classroom for easy access.
