The rug that I currently have has lasted about 5 years. Even though I've cleaned it several times, it still is dirty, worn and is starting to unravel. With almost 500 students walking and sitting on the rug each week, it has really lasted longer than I expected but we are in need of a new one.
Hi, I am a Computer Teacher in one of the public elementary schools in NY.
We currently have approximately 490 students with a poverty rate of 94.7%. Since we are a public magnet school, students from all over the city attend our school. We are very diverse and also have a high population of ESL/ELL students/families. This is currently my 19th year teaching here and I still love coming into my classroom and seeing all of my students every day!
My Project
All of our students in PreK-5th grade come to the Computer Lab to receive instruction and to learn and practice various skills. They learn various applications that correspond with what they are learning in their classroom, they practice skills in math, reading, science and social studies, research topics on the Internet, create slide shows, projects as well as work on science fair projects, webpages and spreadsheets.
Every student who enters my room for class, sits on the carpet to receive instruction.
I would love my students to be able to sit on a new, comfy rug and I would love to see their faces if they are given this opportunity. Please consider helping to purchase an 8 X 12 rug.
