My Students
I teach wonderful second grade students in a large urban area. They are full of energy and questions. My students have one of the highest attendance rates in our school because they love coming to school to learn. These children are kind to one another, focused on their education and a joy to teach. They are a great group of kids.
Most students at my school qualify for free lunch.
They lack books and other materials that we take for granted.
My Project
Children love getting comfortable when reading a good book. Our project is to make a comfortable and inviting reading nook. With your help, my students could relax in comfortable chairs or sit on a nice bench with a friend while they read.
Our library area looks bare.
It lacks a sitting area. Without comfortable chairs my students don't visit the library very often. Having comfy chairs that cradle their backs would be very helpful in motivating my students to visit the library area and read. Perhaps they would be so comfortable that they would stay long enough to read a second book.
