it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Do you remember having a special place in your classroom where you were able to read your favorite book? My students have the books to read now they need a special place to read these books. Second grade focuses on getting students solid with their reading skills.
Working in an inclusion New York City public school classroom, students have the need to want to move around often and find new comfortable places in the classroom.
We are focused on making all of our students reach grade level and be comfortable with reading. This year I want to have different places around the classroom that are quiet and comfortable for them to practice reading. I want reading to become more enjoyable. With this cozy corner, it would allow my students to have a special place to go that would make reading even more exciting. This will also serve as an area if they are having a tough day, they can go to and relax. I think that this would be a great addition to my classroom and a place where all of my students would be able to take advantage of.
My Project
This resource will be an exciting new place in our classroom. It will be a great place for them to be able to go and read. This will be a place where my students can read with each other. Not only will this be a place for reading but it will also be a break center where if my students need a little break they will be able to go and take a short break.
This project is so important to me because I want to have a focus point in my classroom that promotes enjoyable reading.
