My Students

I have the most rewarding job teaching kindergarten to 22 eager, curious, and intelligent 5 year olds! All my kids are coming from many different cultures and backgrounds! For a lot of my kiddos, English is not their first language, and it is my job to create a caring community of learners!

My goal is to educate and empower all students in my class to reach their potential through academic and socially enriching experiences.

Many of my kids receive a free lunch based on their socioeconomic status. Some things going on in their lives or around them may prevent them from getting ahead early in life and may not provide them with the life experiences many of us see as "typical". From the minute they walk in the door of my classroom, I focus on their potential and growth while they are with me. I may not be able to control their home lives, however, I can certainly control their experience during the school day. By doing this in a creative and positive way, I am hopeful to inspire the my kiddos to continue on a path of academic excellence.

My Project

The materials will make a difference in students daily lives in the classroom by allowing them a comfortable and consistent place to sit for large group time.

The meeting area is one of the most important areas in a kindergarten classroom!

Having a consistent area for the kids to sit at during read alouds, and any large group time is so important for creating a caring community of learners who feel safe while at school!

Magnatiles are the most popular center during choice time! Having a new set of Magnatiles will allow for the students to make their 2D drawings and ideas, come to life in a 2D way!
