Our school is located in a large city in Pennsylvania and serves a very diverse population. The school includes grades kindergarten through eighth grade. From arts and music instruction to cutting-edge technology, our school puts students first.
The students, staff, and parents work closely together to make a learning environment where children aren't just happy but are also flourishing.
In addition, the students are very involved with community service and participate in several charity programs throughout the year. I couldn't ask for a better school!
"The secret to education lies in respecting the pupil." Ralph Waldo Emerson My goal as a teacher is to create a student centered learning environment. My focus has been to do so by using flexible seating with my students. I first introduced flexible seating options to my second grade stars three years ago and it has been such an amazing experience for the students. Seeing how excited they were to sit somewhere else than a traditional desk and chair was priceless. The best part was that the students were more productive and they came to school excited to learn! This year, I want to add some new flexible seating options to our class!
Comfy and colorful floor seats will go perfectly in our classroom!
The students will be able to use the seating when they want to delve into a good book on while writing a new story! The students will be able to place the seats close together to discuss problem solving strategies and play educational games. I know my students will enjoy these new seating options!
