Comfy Crocs for Little Feet

My Students

Students come from all walks of life at our school. We celebrate diversity on a daily basis and look for ways to create a learning environment that appeals to all types of learners. We honor various learning styles and embrace the differences that make us all unique.

Our class includes multi-language learners, students with speech and language delays, and students benefiting from various sensory integration strategies.

My students range in ability and are ages four and five attending a full-day preschool program. We are nestled in a southside Chicago neighborhood, walking distance from a large university.

My Project

Chicago winter weather is here! January brings beautiful snow outside, but that means slush, muck, and melting salt residue inside. Students spend a majority of the time on the floor in preschool - building block towers, making train tracks, participating in circle time activities, and resting on cots. It is important to maintain clean floor space.

In an effort to keep our classroom clean and dry I would like to provide each student with a pair of Crocs to wear inside the classroom.

Crocs are a great option for young learners. The shoes are easy to slip in and out of. Students can independently change into outdoor shoes for gross motor play. They also provide a fair amount of grip to keep students safe in the classroom.

I hope to use the Crocs for many years, as they are easy to clean and sanitize. Additionally, I have requested multiple sizes in coordinating colors that fit most children ages four and five. I am excited to introduce this new routine to my students and offer an indoor shoe option for all their little feet!
