Help me give my students supplies that will help make our classroom's flexible seating options more comfortable and the technology to work on our classroom podcasts!
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students come into my classroom full of life and energy! I refer to us as a "squad" rather than a class because I want them to have a sense of community when they are with me and feel like they belong somewhere. Our school has a very diverse population and I want to bring all of my students together through reading and writing. It is my hope to inspire a spark in them so they develop a love for lifelong learning!
The students are 5th graders from an urban school in Connecticut.
Many of them don't have someone to read with them at night partly because many of the students come from households where English isn't the primary language. They are excited to explore the possibilities reading and writing can bring to them and I am excited to hopefully provide all the supplies they will need!

My Project
The materials in this project will help my students have more options for where they sit in our flexible seating classroom and will help give some of our older seating options a new makeover!
My students are eager to learn about new technologies and how they can use them to share their voices and their passions.
That is why I want to give them the materials they need to start their very own podcasts! I feel that this will be an incredible way for them to hear and see the impact that their voice can have and hopefully give them the confidence to use it throughout their life!
