This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach a super cute class of diverse kindergarten students in a low income, Title I school. With lots of excess energy, these little darlings are always looking for ways to learn in fun, new ways.
Like most five-year-olds, their excitement for learning is contagious!
They inspire me every day to be a better teacher and find ways to provide the tools they need to succeed in their first formal school experience. I love to find new ways to capture their attention and capitalize on the excitement for learning they already have.

My Project
Sitting on the floor without proper seating can be a distraction.
Students need to be organized and in close proximity to their peers, materials and teacher. Student participation increases when sitting in small groups. Peer interaction in small group is so important because students learn from one another. Unique floor seating will allow my students a change in location with the connivence of a desk for writing. Children need a chance to move around and an environment that is both stimulating and calming at the same time. Unique seating will allow this to happen and create an enhanced and motivating learning environment.
Also included in this project is a speaker to increase the volume on my computer and Leapfrog learning DVD that will greatly augment the learning process.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
