My Students

For the last 8 years I have had the privilege of teaching the most amazing students from around the world. Burma, Karen, Bangladesh, Somalia, the Congo, Iraq, Ethiopia, and Yemen are just some of the places my students come from. They are kind and extremely generous. You would never know that some of them have lived through traumas we can’t even imagine. They are eager to learn and they put a smile on my face everyday. I love my job.

My Project

My Kindergarten students are just beginning their educational journey. We have many tears each morning as many of my students have never been away from their parents before. I would like to create a warm and homelike environment so my students experience less anxiety during the school day. I want to give them a comfortable and inviting classroom. The materials I am requesting will be the first step in reaching that goal. The flexible work area with the lower table and comfortable and adjustable chairs are student friendly. The table will sit on an oval classroom rug next to a bookshelf with books to read and math materials to explore.
