My Students
My students are 5th graders located in the beautiful, capital city of Charleston, WV. They are eager learners and have hearts of gold. A large majority of the students come from low socioeconomic homes, but that doesn't keep them from being engaged in the classroom.
I feel that the more engaged in learning they are, the more they will enjoy it, and the more they will retain.
These students love cooperative learning and completing projects. They work hard and are always willing to put forth 100% effort.
My Project
These materials will help my classroom towards a more comfortable and homey atmosphere. Hard floors and fluorescent lights aren't for everyone. A new rug and bean bag chairs will provide students with a pleasant area to retreat to for partner assignments and silent reading.
My goal is for my students to feel at home in our classroom .
This reduces stress and anxiety levels, which leads to more productivity. The desk lamps can be used at each group instead of the bright overhead lights, providing a calming effect in the room. I love when my students are excited about their surroundings, it makes working not feel so much like 'work'!
