One of the most important parts of my job as a classroom teacher is creating a space where students feel safe, loved, and inspired. A place that children WANT to be.
The classroom is a space that should reflect each learner and their desires and needs!
When students spend time in a space where they feel safe and relaxed, they are more likely to take risks and chances in the classroom, leading to learning!
I am looking to make the space even more comfortable for my students, with seats for them to sit on in our reading nook. I am looking to add more books to our classroom library that reflect the learners that are in my classroom, as well as books that match our curriculum. I am looking to add manipulatives that will foster creativity, collaboration and teamwork. I am looking to make sure the classroom has all of the basic necessities to meet the needs of the children in the classroom with snacks and cleaning supplies.
My goal is to make the classroom a place that students feel safe, comfortable and inspired. I am working to create a space that is inviting to learners, a space that kids look forward to coming to every single day. A place where kids can work hard, collaborate, problem solve, take academic risks, learn from mistakes and build on their success.
