Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

I teach a GREAT group of students with Autism and other intellectual disabilities. These students are between 18-22 years old and working on building a variety of independent living skills.

I am asking for a futon, sheets and pillows for them to learn to make their bed independently!

Making the bed is such an important skill for all adults. It helps keep your place clean, it gives you a sense of accomplishment, and gives you a chance to express your personality with the sheets you choose. I want to be able to give this skill to my students so they can experience all of that and become overall more independent adults.
