This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I’m reaching out to share an exciting initiative aimed at fostering a love for reading among our students. As part of our efforts to create a more engaging and comfortable learning environment, we are launching a project to provide cozy reading chairs in our classrooms. These reading spots will serve as inviting spaces where students can develop a deeper interest in reading, explore new books, and enjoy the quiet time they need to focus and grow as readers.
All of our students are on Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), which means they each face unique challenges and learning styles.
To help them become stronger, more confident readers, we are seeking to create a comfortable and engaging reading environment that will support their academic success.
Our project’s goal is simple: to provide cozy, comfortable reading chairs in our classrooms that will encourage students to spend more time reading, improving their literacy skills in a calm and inviting space. Research shows that creating a designated, comfortable area for reading not only makes the experience more enjoyable but also helps students focus and develop the skills they need to succeed.
