I am blessed to teach the most awesome third grade students! Teaching at a small, community school, we are a family. I get to know many of my students, as well as their families, before they even get to me and I consider them my students long after they leave me.
My students deserve tools and opportunities that add to their success in third grade, as well as real world experiences that prepare them to be lifelong learners.
They are the future.
My Project
The days of sitting in rows of desks are over! Students learn best by talking and doing. They need comfortable spaces to stretch out with their materials and collaborate with others. My third graders choose spots to work in a variety of locations in our room. Making sure they are comfortable is an essential component in motivating them. Encouraging choice results in students who are more engaged, and get more work completed than when they are just sitting at their desk alone.
More is expected from our students than ever before and keeping them engaged is essential.
The large rug I have selected will provide my students with additional workspace to make learning more comfortable and collaborative. The room this rug provides will be extremely beneficial for students that do not do well confined in one space.
I know my students and realize that flexible seating on this large rug will enhance our classroom learning.
