Help me give my students two rugs for a comfortable space to sit on the floor. I've also added one wobble stool for the child who needs to move around a bit.
Every day I am greeted by 21 excited 7 and 8 year olds who are ready to learn something new and exciting! The second graders in my classroom gather together multiple times throughout the school day, beginning when they arrive with our morning meeting. We also meet as a whole group during shared reading, read aloud, writing, and shared math.
The students in my class will benefit from this proposed project by having a comfortable space to sit (fuzzy rugs) while we gather as a class to share ideas and learn new things.
My Project
These classroom rugs will be used every single day by the children when they sit on the floor for circle time, read aloud, shared reading, writing, shared math, and closing circle.
The fuzzy rugs will provide a comfortable place for the children to sit while our class gathers together throughout the day.
The children will sit on the rugs to begin our day during morning meeting circle time. Throughout the day during read aloud, shared reading, writing, and shared math the children will gather on the soft rugs to learn about different topics. We will conclude our school day on the fuzzy rugs with our closing meeting where the children share something from their day that they appreciated, or something they should apologize for, or something that was an "aha" moment for the student.
