My students are smart, caring and always ready to solve problems. Our school has many dedicated teachers who provide rigorous instruction to students in pre-kindergarten to fifth grade. Our goal is to motivate, challenge and prepare our students for success in high school, college and their future careers.
My third-grade class is comprised of eighteen creative and hardworking students from diverse backgrounds.
They come to school each day excited to learn and be with one another. Some of their interests include drawing, reading, football, soccer, and jump-roping! My students look forward to coming to school and I'd like to keep it that way!
My Project
An organized, cozy classroom library is the perfect way to encourage students to read more. Currently, students don't have flexible seating or an organized shelf for the classroom library. I have many books that are overflowing in their small containers as well as books that are still in their boxes because there is no place to showcase them.
These materials will get students excited about reading and make it easy for them to find books they are interested in!
Having time to read daily in the classroom is an important goal. Students don't always have time to read at home, so I want to provide a time in class where they can sit back, relax, and read. I will also organize books into different genres so students have an easy time finding a book. Thank you for your support and for helping me get students excited to read again!
