Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I am a teacher in a Chicago Public School on the Northwest side of Chicago. I teach third grade, and most of the students are from low-income families. The population of the school is mostly made up of Hispanic children. I teach all subjects to my students. The class size will range from 28 to 32 students. I want to create a warm and inviting classroom library area in my room. Even though the public library is close to our school, many of the students are still not able to visit the Chicago Public library. I hope to create a comfortable environment for the library in the classroom. I want to provide students with a variety of reading materials and a place they feel comfortable reading. I would like a rug and comfy chairs. It is important that my students have positive experiences with reading. If they learn to love reading now, they will always love to read.
