My Students
My students are becoming Super Readers! Even though most of my students come from backgrounds that haven’t emphasized education, we are working on changing that attitude. In my classroom, we embrace books, and we spend time reading books of our choice every day. We are inspired by each other's reading, and we share book talks and rich conversations about books.
My students are incredible young people who are going to change the world!
We have been reading books and stories about young people who have made major changes in their communities and even the whole world. I can't wait to see what each and every one of my students do for our world!
My Project
We love curling up with a good book in my classroom. In fact, we start every class period with 15 minutes of choice reading. Then we read a story from the curriculum and we end our class period with a classroom read aloud. So reading is pretty central to what we do.
My favorite spot to read is corner of the couch.
It is great by itself our put together with the sofa. If that’s where I want to read, I know a student will want to read there, too! My classroom is all about feeling comfortable enough to take risks and grow! Flexible seating is the key to getting students in the right frame of mind to elevate their learning! Help us add these comfy chairs to our classroom!
