This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I am a teacher in a low-income, high poverty school where my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences.
I teach in a low socioeconomic area in the heart of Birmingham, Alabama.
My students come to me daily ready to learn and eager to please their teacher by doing their best work. I provide many resources myself for my classroom due to low funding. About 95% of my students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch. My students would greatly benefit from these additional resources. My students are active, creative, and deserve nothing but the best!
My Project
These chairs will help my students have a comfortable and safe place to learn in the classroom. Our chairs are broken and very uncomfortable for my students. Learning happens when children are in a comfortable and safe environment. These chairs will help my students be more engage and safe because they will be able to feel comfortable. Being in school for almost 7 hours using uncomfortable wobble chairs is not nice. These chairs would enhance my students learning because they would be using safe and comfortable chairs. Please help us get these chairs, our school does not have money to buy them. My students and I would greatly appreciated.
