Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are an amazing group of kids. These kids come from many different backgrounds both culturally and economically. They all come to our school in order to learn, grow, and succeed not only in school but in life.
My kids have chosen to come to our school for a hands-on educational experience - an educational experience in which their culture and lifestyles will be embraced in the classroom.
Each one of my students is unique, but that's what makes our classroom community all that much better.
My Project
My students are not only culturally diverse, but also diverse in their learning and learning ability. While some of my students learn well at their desks, I have found many of my students learn better in a quiet space, away from other where they can spread out and be comfortable.
We need area rugs in our classroom to provide a comfortable and safe place for leaning to occur.
Currently students are sitting on the hard cold floor which is not conducive to learning.
We are hoping to get a large area rug to fit everyone for whole class lessons, as well as two smaller rugs that students can use to meet with their peers, or spend out and learn independently.
