My students need a comfy carpet to hold morning meetings, listen to read aloud books, engage in conversations and much more! Along with a comfy carpet, I've included two flexible seating options for my students.
My class will vary anywhere from 20-25 students. Kindergarten is the first year of learning for the majority of these kiddos, so I want to create a space that promotes learning but is also calm, safe, and comfortable because some of these students don't have this option at home.
These 5-6 year olds have a love for learning that is fresh, new, and exciting, making Kindergarten my favorite grade to teach!
Literacy is a huge aspect of Kindergarten learning, and I am excited to see my class grow academically and socially!
My Project
My students need a comfy space to start our days on! I plan to use this carpet for several things, including the items listed above, but also for a place where my students can enjoy quiet reading time, partner reading, and so much more. Students will spend close to 50% of their day on this carpet!
So much of our learning is done on our carpet, and Lakeshore offers a well crafted, comfortable carpet for my students to do so.
By giving my students a variety of seating options while reading and learning, I allow them to pick the option that promotes learning according to them! I plan to use the flex balls for another option for students who may need constant, small movement while learning.
