My Project
The students in my second-grade class are an energetic group of amazing students. I know they love to sit on the floor while working in pairs and groups and during whole-group instruction. They will be able to be more focused when they have the opportunity to choose their seating options. Our classroom has tile floors and is a basement classroom, so it’s not comfortable to sit on the floor.
Help me give my students a small classroom carpet for when they prefer to sit on the floor for partner work or small group time and when they would like to sit closer to the whiteboard.
A carpet will allow students to choose a space on the floor while also allowing them a comfortable seating option. My hope is to provide a variety of flexible seating options for my students, so additional options are available besides sitting at their desks.
The carpet sweeper will help us keep our carpet in great shape. The students will be able to take ownership by being responsible for sweeping each day.
