My Project

I am requesting items to build a comfy and cozy thinking and reflecting space in a small area of my classroom. When my students are reading, working independently, or want to collaborate as a group, I would love to have a space for them to sit on pillows on a rug, with soft lighting, and be able to work. My request is asking for a science-themed rug, some soft floor pillows to sit on, some bean bag chairs, side tables, and lamps.

Often, student groups consist of 3-5 people, so this space should be large enough to accommodate one entire collaborating student group.

I would also like this space to be an area for students needing to take a break during full-class instruction. I would also love for this area to be used for our social-emotional learning days when students are reflecting on what is happening around them and how they are reacting and learning from it.

I would also like to use this space for students who are on the spectrum or have other disabilities and find it more suitable for their learning to sit on the floor or on a pillow instead of at a desk.
