This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Small group time is extremely important for students of all different strengths to learn at their level. Second grade can be a turning point for young learners, as much growth and development occurs.
In my classroom, we have time for both math AND reading small groups!
We are so fortunate to have the time and resources to conduct small groups. I pull 6 children at one time and am able to create my lessons depending on their individual needs. We sit at a kidney bean table and are able to learn in close proximity.
Unfortunately, my table is lacking stools. We currently have mismatched chairs consisting of wobble stools, and metal stools, and occasionally have to pull over small classroom chairs.
A consistent set of stools would be extremely beneficial for my students, as well as a relief for myself. These stools would discourage arguing and disagreements between my students, as well as be a sturdy alternative to dangerous three-legged stools.
