I teach 3rd and 4th-grade special education in Norfolk, VA.
My students live in an urban area and typically come from low socioeconomic backgrounds.
My students work hard to overcome obstacles every day, but they push through and always persevere. I am so proud of their hard work and the progress they make.
My Project
Winter is, by far, my students least favorite season. Not only is the weather cold and dreary, but there are also many days that we cannot go outside. Our classroom temperature also fluctuates drastically! Most mornings it is quite cold in our classroom and then the afternoons are hot.
I hope to get a space heater for our classroom so I guarantee a comfortable learning environment all winter long!
I am also requesting two Amazon Alexa hubs for music and research. I love playing classical music for my students during the day. I truly believe this helps them remain calm and engages their brains. I plan to use the second Alexa hub as a research tool for my students. Technology is a huge part of my student's lives and I would love to give them the opportunity to ask Alexa questions.
