My students are an incredible fun-loving bunch of energetic, enthusiastic, and eager 4th-grade learners. I believe learning is not a spectator sport and kids must be actively engaged and involved in their education. We have some wiggle seats, but not enough for everyone. Wiggle seats provide students with the necessary movement to stay engaged in learning. I desire to have an equal opportunity for all my students. My students have also requested alternative lighting to our classroom fluorescent lighting which is hard on their eyes. I am seeking to create a more calming and welcoming environment where all students are successful.
My Project
These wiggle chairs and floor lamps will help create a comforting classroom environment for everyone. We have some wiggle chairs but not enough for our whole class. I would love to see every child have the same opportunity to have a chair that allows them to move while learning. These wiggle chairs are also more comfortable for students to sit on all day long keeping them calm, focused and productive. The addition of these floor lamps will all us to turn off the annoying florescent lights that cause glares on the Smart Board and can cause headaches. Lighting can set a mood for the class as well as help students relax and focus.
