My Project
COVID-19 has had an impact on my classroom like any other across America. In particular, for mine, the achievement gap is growing bigger and I want to find ways to help my students be more engaged with my lessons while enjoying a comfortable, safe classroom environment. Traditional seating can be a pain for most of my students and having to listen to me talk for hours can become disengaging, but allowing them to have a different type of seating and fidgets to use to help them stay focused will increase their engagement in my lessons and how to interact with their peers. On top of that, having a mobile standing desk can help me make my lessons more engaging by moving around the classroom while utilizing my materials on the mobile desk. Lastly, having a more comfortable desk chair will help me be more engaged when working in small groups with my students at my horse shoe table and not distracted by constantly having to adjust myself in the students chair I'm currently using. In the end, it's always nice to have a treat in the classroom for those who may be hungry to help them stay focused as well.
