This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
As a teacher in a low-income and poverty school district, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. I am looking to provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences to better their understanding of the concepts. The students benefit from learning and practicing the content through different forms of learning.
My students are constantly striving to better themselves.
As a class, we are focusing on our growth and making connections on a daily basis.
My Project
These materials will help create a warm and welcoming reading area. The flexible seating will allow students to be comfortable while completing tasks and independently reading. The books will allow for students to have access to more materials within our own four walls.
Our classroom environment is extremely important to student success.
When students are comfortable and feel welcome, they are more likely to be willing to complete difficult tasks as well as read more. Flexible seating allows students to find alternatives to traditional desks and chairs. The rug will allow for a set space in the classroom that can be designated as the reading area.
