My students are located in Northern Minnesota. The population is primarily low-income, with a large percentage of free and reduced lunch and a high mobility rate. My students are faced with many challenges as most of them come from low-income homes. They have many needs but most come to school every day with smiles on their faces and are ready to learn! School, for many of them is their "safe place" and they are excited to spend the day learning and growing together!
My Project
My students need to be able to have flexible seating choices during the long school day. They sit on their hard chair seats way too much and need an option to choose something COMFORTABLE to sit on while they do their reading, writing, and other schoolwork!
Soft cushions, wobble seats, and small soft chair seats would create a FUN LEARNING ENVIRONMENT where my students enjoy doing their work and look forward to coming to school each day!
Comfortable seating is what we all like, students included. When kids are happy and feel good ~ learning is enjoyable, exciting, and FUN!
