My Students

Students coming into my classroom are full of energy and enthusiasm. They are coming from a city with a population of over 20, 000. Many of them have never been exposed to an educational setting prior to coming to my classroom. They want to play, learn and make friends and that is just what we do!

Kindergarten is an important "first" experience for all children.

It is where they learn to be students, how to sit and listen and be successful in their future years.

My Project

Starting our day with morning meeting helps students transition into their day, builds a strong classroom community, promotes social skills and supports our learning. Having a comfortable spot for my students to start their day will help them to be successful. A Store & Display Teaching Cart with a big display board will help our whole group activities be seen by all students, no matter where they are positioned on the carpet.

I'm also requesting one Classroom Carpet for 20.

Whole group activities throughout our day could include math lessons, writing lessons, discussing solutions to problems and read-alouds from our favorite books. A good portion of our day is spent in our meeting area and it is so important for each student to feel comfortable in their own space.
