Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The materials and supplies that I am requesting for my students already have a "home." In other words, I know exactly where everything will go. We just need your help in getting everything through our door! The large seating area will be placed in the front of the classroom and used as a gathering place during lessons. I teach a special education class for High Schoolers as well as transition students. All my students are between 15-22. Along with learning disabilities, they also have physical disabilities & have behavior issues. So at any time they may hit, kick, spit & other physical aggressions.
My students will benefit from a comfortable learning environment as they take sensory breaks throughout the day.
This new area will give them a great environment to de-escalate.
