This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As a first-year teacher, I am incredibly passionate about creating a nurturing and inclusive learning environment for my students, who are newcomers to the school system and come from farming families. Each resource requested in this project holds immense significance in supporting their unique educational journey and ensuring their success in the classroom.

The rug and soft seats I'm requesting will play a vital role in establishing a comfortable and welcoming space where my second-grade students can feel safe, valued, and eager to learn.

Coming from farming families, many of my students have experienced challenges adjusting to a new school environment and language barriers. Having a cozy area in our classroom will not only provide them with a sense of familiarity and security but also encourage them to participate actively in classroom activities and build connections with their peers.

As newcomers to the school system, my students bring with them diverse backgrounds, cultures, and experiences. It is my goal to create an environment that honors and celebrates their individual identities while fostering a sense of belonging and community. The rug and soft seats will serve as foundational elements in this endeavor, facilitating collaboration, communication, and social-emotional development among my students.

By providing a supportive and inviting learning space, I aim to empower my students to embrace their academic journey with confidence and enthusiasm.
